Our specialty teams focus on specific areas and care based on specialized provider training.

Complex Hip Deformity & Dysplasia

The Complex Hip Deformity and Dysplasia Team at Pediatric Orthopaedic Associates provide children and young adults of all ages, care for complex hip disorders.  Conditions including, but not limited to, congenital hip dislocation, developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), neurologic subluxation or dislocation, slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE), pelvis or hip fractures, proximal femoral focal deficiency (PFFD), and femoral acetabular impingement (FAI) are evaluated and managed by a caring and knowledgeable team led by Dr. Peter Meehan and Dr. Albert Pendleton. Treatment methods range from physical therapy, stretching, and medical management, to minimally invasive arthroscopic treatment of hip disorders, including arthroscopy for femoral acetabular impingement, to pelvic reshaping and reorientation osteotomies (bone cuts) to help contain and preserve the patient's native hip and avoid early degenerative disease. In certain instances, we can also offer hip fusion or joint replacement for the young adult with advanced disease.
