About Cassidy M. Foley, DO
Dr. Cassidy Foley learned she wanted to be a sports medicine doctor by growing up as a dancer and competitive figure skater. She developed a passion for tennis and soccer in high school and took her sports enthusiasm to Columbia University, where she was a varsity athlete. Her interest in clinical research was cultivated at the University of New England College of Medicine. At UNECOM, she was President of the Pediatric Club and she continued to play tennis and run. She was involved in the community by volunteering and working for Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center, mentoring local elementary school students, and organizing Medical School for Kids day and a community outreach day to encourage families to be active together. She also traveled internationally to volunteer at a children’s hospital, Baca Ortiz Hospital para Niños, in Quito, Ecuador for 3 months. Upon completion of medical school she was awarded the Sewall Scholarship for exemplifying dedication to community service and primary care.
Cassidy completed University of Connecticut’s Pediatric Residency Program at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. She then completed a Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. In Boston, Dr. Foley was able to focus her interest in Sports Medicine on the young, elite athlete, as D1 team physician for Northeastern University Men’s and Women’s Hockey and Women’s Volleyball. She also cared for professional athletes at Boston Ballet Company and United States Olympians at the Boston Skating Club.
Her dedication to pediatric care extends nationally. Throughout medical school she was on the board of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians. She currently represents pediatric sports medicine on the membership committee of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine and the Council of Sports Medicine and Fitness of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her special interests have persisted and she covers events with the United States Figure Skating Association and has joined the Society for Tennis Medicine and Science.
Dr. Foley is very excited to move to Georgia, to spend time with her family and dogs.
