About Dr. E. Pendleton

Dr. Eugene “Chip” Pendleton joins Pediatric Orthopaedic Associates as a non-operative orthopedist.  Dr. Pendleton brings to POA a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of orthopedics.  Chip attended Davidson College before heading to Columbia University for his medical degree.  After medical school, Dr. Pendleton studied in Hawaii for his internship and first year of residency.  He completed his assistant and senior residencies locally at Emory University.   After the completion of his residency, Chip stayed in Atlanta where he has been in practice for over 30 years.

Dr. Pendleton was in private practice in orthopedics at Northside Hospital, where he specialized in spine surgery, joint replacement, and arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery.   In 2007, he returned to Emory, as a general orthopedist, where he focused on geriatric orthopedic problems, in addition to supervising residents and teaching medical students.

Chip has been happily married for over 40 years to his wife, Susan.  Together, they have three children; Erica, Ottie, and Dr. Albert Pendleton.  Being able to join Albert at POA fulfills a dream of being in practice together with his son.  Outside of POA, Chip’s hobbies include fly fishing, walking, hiking, and paddle boarding.  He has a rescue dog, Honey, and is an avid collector of Lionel electric trains.
