Dr. De is excited to join Pediatric Orthopaedic Associates in September 2012. He was raised in Stone Mountain and Snellville, where he graduated from Brookwood High School. He attended the University of Georgia as a part of the Honors Program and double majored in Microbiology and German. After college, he completed his doctorate of medicine at Emory University in Atlanta. He left Georgia for his post-graduate residency training in Dallas, Texas at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital. There, while working at the renowned Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, he developed an interest in pediatric orthopaedics. As part of his residency training, he had the opportunity to travel to Norwich, England and work in the Trauma and Orthopaedics department at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. His fellowship training was in pediatric orthopaedics in Denver, Colorado at The Children’s Hospital Colorado. He returns home to Atlanta with his wife, Liz, and their two boys.
Dr. De’s areas of clinical interest include management of neuromuscular disorders (such as cerebral palsy), pediatric orthopaedic trauma, and musculoskeletal infection. His fellowship training included gait and movement analysis, and he hopes to implement this technology to improve the outcomes in children with gait disorders.
Dr. De continues to build collaborative efforts with educational institutions in the areas of gait and movement analysis. In this regard, he works closely with physicians and research personnel from those institutions in an effort to provide better care for children today and into the future.
Outside of work, Dr. De enjoys spending time with family, playing soccer, and skiing.
